BERNARDS TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE
For Bernards, For You
ABOUT US
Get to Know Andrew McNally

My name is Andrew McNally and I am a husband, father, lawyer, former State official, and current Bernards Township Committeeman. I am also a Bernards resident who cares deeply about our community.
I attended Boston College, graduating with a B.A. in Economics. Thereafter, I attended Seton Hall Law School, graduating magna cum laude. It was during law school that I met my wife, Keri, with whom I served on the Seton Hall Law Review. Today, Keri is an accomplished attorney, and practices primarily employment law.
Keri and I have two young children—Hannah (age 7) and Alex (age 5). Not long after Hannah was born, we moved to Bernards. Bernards was the obvious choice for us, because Keri lived here when we first met. We love the charm and beauty of our community, and I want to serve on the Township Committee, in part, to ensure that the things that made this town attractive to us remain in place in the future.
After graduating from law school, I worked as a litigator in the Newark office a large law firm. In 2013, I joined the Christie Administration in Trenton, eventually serving as a member of the Governor’s Senior Staff as the Governor’s Deputy Chief Counsel. I also served as the Chief Counsel to the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, the State’s utility regulator. Today, I serve as the Government Relations Director for a utility company.
I presently serve as a member of the Bernards Township Committee. I have been a member of the Township’s Planning Board since 2018, and I was previously a member of the Environmental Commission. In 2018, I was appointed by the Somerset County Board of Chosen Freeholders to the Board of Trustees at Raritan Valley Community College in Branchburg, where I served until 2021. I also previously served on two State Boards following my appointment by the Governor the New Jersey Clean Air Council and the Garden State Preservation Trust, a state entity charged with administering open space funds. A list of my service to the public is found below:

I stand for government that is transparent and makes sense. I will work to keep Bernards debt-free and maintain its excellent credit rating. I will support prudent expenditures to maintain our parks and infrastructure. I will also continue to support our local police and first responders who do such an excellent job of keeping us safe. I oppose overdevelopment that threatens the quality-of-life Bernards enjoys, and will work to maintain the Township’s long-standing, business-friendly environment. In addition, I will continue to support volunteerism and community programs that enrich our Township’s residents.
